Ανακοινώθηκαν οι υποψηφιότητες των φετινών 96ων βραβείων Όσκαρ, με το «Oppenheimer» του Κρίστοφερ Νόλαν να ηγείται των φετινών υποψηφιοτήτων σε συνολικά 13 διαφορετικές κατηγορίες.
Το «Poor Things» του Γιώργου Λάνθιμου ακολουθεί αποσπώντας 11 υποψηφιότητες μεταξύ των οποίων Καλύτερης Ταινίας, Καλύτερης Α' Γυναικείας Ερμηνείας για την Έμμα Στόουν, Καλύτερου β' ανδρικού ρόλου για τον Μαρκ Ράφαλο και Καλύτερου Διασκευασμένου Σεναρίου.
Παράλληλα, ο Γιώργος Λάνθιμος κατάφερε να αποσπάσει μία δεύτερη υποψηφιότητα στην κατηγορία «Καλύτερης Σκηνοθεσίας» για το «Poor Things»
Οι ταινίες «Οι Δολοφόνοι του Ανθισμένου Φεγγαριού» του Μάρτιν Σκορσέζε και η άκρως επιτυχημένη «Barbie» της Γκρέτα Γκέργουικ, ακολούθησαν με 10 και 8 υποψηφιότητες αντίστοιχα.
Στο μεταξύ τα ξενόγλωσσα φιλμ, «Ζώνη Ενδιαφέροντος» και «Ανατομία μίας Πτώσης», απέσπασαν πέντε υποψηφιότητες μεταξύ των οποίων, Καλύτερης Ταινίας και Σκηνοθεσίας, καθώς και μία υποψηφιότητα Καλύτερης Α' Γυναικείας Ερμηνείας για την ερμηνεία της Σάντρα Χιούλερ.
Η 96η τελετή απονομής των βραβείων Όσκαρ θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Κυριακή 10 Μαρτίου 2024, στο Dolby Theatre του Χόλιγουντ, στο Λος Άντζελες.
